The University of Iowa summer camp offers an intense and fun learning experience. Head Coach Nathan Mundt and his staff will instruct and demonstrate elite-level strokes, starts, and turns during your stay at camp.

Camp Features

  • 2 to 3 training sessions daily with a heavy technique focus.
  • Instruction on stroke, starts and turns for all strokes.
  • Individual analysis and evaluation on all strokes, starts and turns.
  • Lectures on nutrition and mental preparation.
  • Dryland conditioning and strength training.
  • Campers will receive 2 t-shirts and 2 swim caps.
  • An intense yet FUN learning experience at one of the nation’s finest academic and athletic institutions.
  • Nutrition presentation by University of Iowa Sports Nutritionist.

What to Bring

  • 2 Swim Suits
  • 2 Towels
  • Tennis Shoes: for Dry Land Conditioning and walking around campus (NO CROCS)
  • Several pairs of Work Out Shorts and T-shirts for Drylands throughout the week
  • Competitive swimming goggles
  • Toiletries and Towels for the dorms

Participants must also furnish their own towels and toiletry items. When not in a sports session, dress is casual, so bring along your favorite jeans or shorts and summer shirts. It is a good idea to bring extra spending money for snacks. You may wish to bring an alarm clock and a small fan, and a pillow. We strongly discourage you from bringing any valuables to camp. The camp administration will not cash personal checks from campers. The University of Iowa is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Open to any and all participants ages 9*-18  (*Must be 10 to register as a resident)

Please Note: This is not a learn to swim camp. Campers should be able to complete 25 yards of each of the four competitive strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle.
